## Based on our evaluation of Update 9, we have identified the following enhancement opportunities for implementation in BRCM Update 24.03 >>>

#1. Upgrade Cable/Equipment List Format:

• Transition the “Cable/Equipment List” file format from .xls to .xlsx to leverage the features of the latest Excel versions. (This will require corresponding updates to the XML configuration)

#2. Streamline Equipment Import Options:

• To reduce confusion between the "Equipment Import" and "ID Manager" functionalities, we propose hiding the "Equipment Import" tab from the BRCM toolbox.

#3. Introduce Progress Indicators: Implement "Please wait", "Loading", or progress graphics in areas where operations take noticeable time, including:

• Cable List Import

• Equipment List Import

• Cable Manager: "Refresh Model"

• Cable Manager: "Auto Connect"

• Cable Manager: "Auto Route"

#4. Enhance Alert Information in Cable Manager: Ensure all alert indicators in Auto Connect display corresponding messages in the "INFO" column (Many times that info not fetched to "Info" column)

• Red Triangle Alert: Missing connection/termination points (currently shown)

• Yellow Triangle Alert: Item not found (not currently shown)

• Blue Triangle Alert : New item added (not currently shown)

#5. Standardize Equipment Level Naming:

• All equipment should be assigned the level "E-BRCM-EQPM-3D". This resolves issues such as the motor not appearing in the routing file due to incorrect level assignment.

#6. Improve Auto Route BRCM Info:

• The Auto Route tool should accurately display the number of successful and failed routes in the BRCM info dialog. You can include a total circuit count at the bottom for clarity and info should be accurate for hits and failed. (Currently, it shows wrong info multiple times)

#7. Optimize "Refresh Model" Functionality:

• Add progress indicators to clarify when the operation is in progress or complete.

• Integrate "Refresh Model" with the Auto Route tool to ensure new circuits are automatically recognized, eliminating the need for mandatory manual refresh.

#8. Integrate Auto Connect with Auto Route to enhance the Auto Route tool to automatically perform Auto Connect, streamlining the routing process into a single operation.

#9. Ensure Consistent Equipment Level Assignment:

• Verify that all equipment, both Imperial and Metric are assigned the correct level "E-BRCM-EQPM-3D". (If Equipment has another level, then it neither visible nor considered for Auto Routing process in design file.)

#10. Insert & Connection Points for All Equipment (Need to add that provision):

• Each equipment item must have defined Insert and Connection Points in the Property window to support default sphere placement during Auto Routing.

#11. User-Controlled Sphere Placement:

• Provide users with the ability to move and stretch/move the sphere directly within the design file which will offering flexibility in placement beyond the default connection point.

#12. Enhanced File Selection in Collaboration Manager:

• In the path: Routing → Cable Manager → Collaboration Manager, enable users to select specific folders, subfolders and design files as that will allow locking only the files required for routing which will improving control and efficiency.
