Please note that we have two procedures for BRCM equipment modeling and that are :-

1. Minor Equipment Modeling >>> In this we have been used Internal BRCM library and all equipment’s are intelligent. (Due to its intelligence we can easily fetch its info to CARMS or PT Explorer)

2. Major Equipment Modeling :- In this we used MicroStation “.cel” file and then attach that to BRCM and then add Insertion point from BRCM library to make it intelligent.

• There are few points >>>

1. Major Equipment is cell based from .cel file and its non-intelligent &

2. Insertion point (which we are attaching to cel based equipment) from BRCM is intelligent which allows to associate BRCM intelligence with major equipment.

As per B&V standard procedure >>> We grouped “Equipment” & “Insertion point” to ensures if equipment is to be moved the origin would stay in place. But In this case we are facing issue of fetching major equipment tag/datum point information to BRCM reports :-

a. If we do not group the “Equipment” & “Insertion point” then it may disturb the Insertion point and Equipment while moving & this will lead to equipment misplacement issue.

b. If we group the “Equipment” & “Insertion point” then equipment tag and its tag/datum point information does not show in BRCM reports.

• So, To avoid above mentioned point "b" issue we would like to suggest following innovative Idea and looking forward to obtain Bentley team's support.

1. We would like to suggest the workflow that is currently being used in OPM. In OPM we have one provision of “Create Equipment” where we can model equipment by using MicroStation 3D commands and then by using “Create Equipment” Tool settings we can make that as an intelligence equipment without any extra procedure.

2. Further we can even modify same equipment.

We would like to add this feature in BRCM as BRCM also based on OPM foundation. We have attached demo video of OPM for your reference.
