In BRCM we have a provision for “Raceway catalog Creation” and it’s a very superb tool which conserves the time but there are some points which needs to be improve and those are as follows: -
It has good provision to select the template for existing “System” as well as “Catalog” which helps to take a reference. In this we can take an example: -
Consider we select template i.e. “System = Cable Tray – Ladder” & “Catalog = Cable Tray Ladder” & add all required input parameters and click OK. Further, it created the catalog along with new associated DNA files.
In that Reducer, Splice Hinge Plate DNA files are taking the reference of OOTB dataset as that causes the issue.
Suggestion or Ideas for Enhancement of this Raceway Catalog Creation Tool: -
Along with System & Catalog templates we can add “DNA files” template also for reference.
For Ex. “System = Cable Tray – Ladder” & “Catalog = Cable Tray Ladder” then “DNA = New or Existing as per “System” & “Catalog” template Selection”
Where,
New = Can create new DNA files
As per “System” & “Catalog” template Selection” = No need to create new DNA files just use same DNA files as per inputs of “System” & “Catalog”.

Along with System & Catalog templates we can add provision of “DNA files” template for reference.

Once "Existing" selected then "Browse" option will help us to select "Specific set of DNA files" and its folder to create a new catalog.
