When editing component data for the classes available in EDM Tag Management it would be quite helpful to include the P&ID drawing number as one of the properties. Data editing is frequently done on a "by drawing" basis but there is no way to sort or filter the contents of a class by drawing number.
Yes, a custom property can be added to the OpenPlant schema on the Equipment class for example with an EC Expression like this to get the related document:
this.GetRelatedInstance("Document_Is_Related_To_Object:1:PID_DOCUMENT").NAME
Our plan is to add this to our out of the box schemas in the next major release (i.e. OpenPlant 2026), but in the meantime you can add it yourself today as explained above.
We already added the property in our schemas. This is pushed to plantsight on sync for all except PipeLines.
We are currently clarifying requirements on this and hope to take this up in Q4 2025.
Thanks Gary for submitting this idea. We have now capability to create queries in which you can include related information for components like P&ID drawing number or line number information. In addition to that we are working on capability to let you edit these advanced queries. We hope to release this feature into production in next couple of iterations. I will update you once we have it.
