In our engineering workflows, while working concurrently with several piping systems and isometric drawings, there are times when the model is changed after isometrics are generated. However, currently the only way we can verify that the Isometric drawing matches the 3D piping model is to manually check each component, dimension, description, lengths, quantities to verify is all the data matches the 3D model.
Developing tools that can allow us to validate the content of an isometric DGN file matches the 3D Piping Model would greatly benefit the manual process. This would help us ensure that the 3d model and isometrics are in sync. Usually, the person running the Isometric and the person reviewing them are not the same, and the reviewer is lacking tools to validate the 3D model and iso match. Currently, we manually measure each dimension and check each call-out to verify they match.
