Can we get the ability to do cut back 180 degree returns (elbows) in the AutoFitting settings when place pipe and using the Standard Elbow option. Currently you have to use the Pipe Bend option which requires the designers look up the radii of each return and typing it in.
How frequently will feature be used? | A few times a week |
How much time will you save? | Not a great deal of time unless a designer types the incorrect radii in and has to redo it (approx. half an hour per week). Saving would be felt more so in fabrication by reducing the risk of rework on the shop floor which would be costly.. |

Thanks Chris. I will follow up with you on email to patch up.

Hi Waqas, yes you can book a time to speak about this. Something else that would be good, is for OPM to automatically detect the minimum bend elbow. So, for bends less than 45 degrees, it automatically uses a 45 elbow, for bend between 90 and 45 degrees, it automatically uses a 90 degree elbow, and the same for greater than 90 degrees, for it to use a 180 return.
Hi Chris,
Thanks for posting the idea.
We are working on the ability to enable Read from spec functionality for pipe bends during autofitting, so that users don't have to manually enter the radii (and rest of the parameters) each time and can read these values from spec.
I am not sure how much it can be helpful to you but if possible can we setup a meeting where I can explain what we are currently working on and to understand will it be helpful to you or not ? Moreover I want to understand your workflow and how you are planning to use it.
If its Ok for you then just let me know, I will then send you an email to patch up on call.

Waqas
