OpenPlant Modeler’s working behavior is to pull the nearest bolt entry from spec with a lower BOLT_LEN compared to the calculated length if there’s no available bolt entry from spec with a BOLT_LEN that is either equal or greater than the calculated.
In the instance wherein there’s two bolts in spec with the same nominal diameter and BOLT_LEN but has different description, the first entry in the spec will be pulled to OPM with its BOLT_LEN overridden by the calculated one. This is the expected behavior in OPM which is limited, it is expected that all bolts should be added to the spec, this in some cases could mean a duplication of each bolt 3 to 4 times across every size and in every spec creating 1000's of extra bolts across the 70 piping specs we have where the length is the only change.
To have the ability to be able to select the bolt to be used via a Spec Grid where there is more that 1 that fits the search criteria of Wafer Bolt to guarantee the correct description/Piece Mark is used.
How frequently will feature be used? | Several times a day |
How much time will you save? | The only option is to modify the MTO of the Isometric after it has been run, change the description and the piece mark so the correct bolts are purchased. Very high chance of error and loss of production. |
