BOLT selection for multiple materials or records

  1. OPM_CALCULATE_BOLT_LENGTH = 1 and ALLOW_BOLT_INCREMENTING = 1

  2. OPM finds multiple records that meet Nominal Diameter, Facing and Rating.

  3. Bolt Length for multiple records less than the OPM calculated value.

When all three of the above criteria is met, OPM picks the first available Bolt record and uses that to calculate the required Bolt Length.

This logic is flawed, as there might be a case where multiple bolts exist with differing MATERIAL and the user is required to pick the correct MATERIAL from the spec grid.

Expected behavior:

If OPM finds multiple records that meet the three criteria defined above, OPM displays the spec grid to the user, and let's them pick the correct bolt record to be used for automatic calculation of the Bolt Length.

The use case here is to allow Rating/Material restricted bolts for general Specifications. This way the user is not prompted to make a selection which could lead to errors.

However, for custom cases connecting to special equipment which may have a different Rating interface, the designers can use a spec which has all available flange, bolt and gasket hardware, and still rely on OPM to calculate bolt length automatically. The user may select the required material for the Bolt if there are multiple records that meets the required joint conditions.

@Guest What was working in the past should be working still now. Can you please check at your end.

I cannot believe that this has been changed and I fully support the user's concern and estimate of how much time this will save.
In projects where multiple bolts are present each Isometric now should be manually edited; the same goes for material lists. How complicated will it now be to separate the standard and special bolts.

This used to work in the past, why break it?

PLEASE can you consider escalating this issue for implementation.
