This is a request to have the NUMBER property on components in all Open Plant products (Modeler, PID, Isometrics and Support Engineering), to have a user defined required number of digits.

Requirements

The following criteria are required:

1. A user administrator can set a specific required number of digits on the NUMBER property.

2. This number of digits must be a required number - meaning if set to 3 then 3 digits are required to be entered by the user. A user must enter exactly 3 digits.

3. This needs to be based on component class, as different classes of components may have a different required number of digits.

4. User administrator should be able to set a starting number. As an example, 3 digits, starting at 100. An equipment is placed and the first tag for that equipment type is 100, subsequent same type equipment would follow with numbers 101, 102, 103, etc.

5. A user should be able to override the sequential numbering and enter a "custom" number as long as that custom number has not been previously assigned to the component type and the number entered matches the number of character requirement defined by the administrator.
