Till OpenPlant PID SS10, we can do drafting in sheet mode, and it is not necessary to have mode as Design. But in CONNECT, Bentley has forced to do drafting in design mode.

Due to this, if a user is moving from V8i to CE, user have to follow multiple extra steps in each drawing. Like open each P&ID drawing, change the mode to Model from Sheet and reload the application. Fix the Document as New and New Guid. Close the application again and then reopen.

At very best level, it should be like something is drafted to Model mode then by default it should be placed to sheet mode. Such implementation would be wonderful. Plant3D does this task very easily and effectively.

If Bentley cannot implement above workflow, it would be better to allow the drafting in Design Type as Sheet and don't force to do drafting in Model mode only.

Currently due to this limitation, create Rendition is tough as practical workflow of executing rendition is on sheet.
Only due to this limitation user need to manage different rendition and it is very ineffective way of working in a production project.

It should be under defect but Bentley Plant-TSG suggested to log as Aha.
